Happy new year! Without stubborn axle nuts (Long)

Hi RAMVA! May you all have a happy new year. I hope you all had a good start this year. I already had the best start this year could have. Removing the Axle-nut-from-hell !!!

I didn't even had to light up the Oxyacetylene equipment. And my girlfriend was the one with the grat idea. I had already tried every suggestion you posted except for the cutting. Here's the method: first, I let the car sit on it's tires, and put some stops to keep it from rolling. Then, i got under the car to move the brakes' adjustment stars all the way out (braking), I couldn't get to the right adjustment star, so I thought this was just another of the PO's conversions. I got out from blow the car and put the gear in 1st. (i was trying to remove the right axle nut). All this things I had done before, and I was really decided to use the OxyAcet, but I just had to try one more time before rusting out that nut with the torch.

I tried move the nut with the breaker bar and cheater pipe, but it wouldn't move without the axle moving with it (and the rest of the car slightly). You can remember we were trying a lot of ways to prevent the axle from moving. So my GF, who was looking from behind the car, said, "hey, why don't you block that pulley?". I was shocked! what pulley, then I noticed, everytime the axle moved, the whole crank, and the pulleys with it! It was so simple! I just got a crescent wrench, and put it on the alt pulley nut, and let it rest against the breast plate. then I just pulled the cheater pipe hard, and

*Crack!* the nut was moving... from there it was REAL easy, i got the drum out.

Just like speedy jim said, I did't have drum splines, it was as soft as a baby's butt. but the most shocking thing was.... I had no brakes!!! the rear right drum was empty, just the emergency brakes cable was there, no lever, no cylinders, no adjust. stars, no shoes, no springs, no nothing. Now I really want to kill this guy!

But it's ok, Now I'll get a disc brake kit and new axles. Everything will be just perfect this year. I hope all of you start this way. Thanks for all your help.
