More Master Cylinder Problems.... 68 Auto Stichk Bug

I finally got a little time to work on my nug. I have the Master Cylinder screwed back in. Now trying to install the new Metal lines I got from Jbugs/Calpacific I think. The driviers side Metal Line is to long but I have it bent so it fits. Is this a problem? The Pasanger side one is too short. I have checked the one that goes through the car yet. I have ot un fold it and see if it is long enough. Where can I get the Correcnt Lenght Metal Line for the Passanger Side? Also how do I go about removing the Metal line that runs the lenght of the car.

Thanks Steven

if John can get you the correct length lines. The rear line runs along the tunnel and under the pedal cluster. Where it goes thru the firewall and also rear pan there is a rubber grommet. The big trick is the fitting at the rear. It is buried up between the body and rear suspension. The factory made the connection BEFORE the body went on. That makes it real tough to get a wrench up in there. The fitting is a TEE bolted to the suspension; if you can get the TEE loose and drop down a hair, you can get a wrench on the flare fitting.

While you are it, the 4 brake hoses going to each wheel cyl need replacement if they haven't already been done.

Thanks for the reply.

This morning I think I got the right length Metal Line from Aircooled.net. Also got Front Brake kit Springs and such. Which I just remembered I need two of them instead of one. I have the two rubber hoses changed in the front. Might need to get new clips that hop it in place where it connects to the Metal Lines. I have hoses for the rear but haven't been able to get them off. May have to take the car to a friends who has a car stand so I can get under the car better and remove them.

Thanks Steven

I see one kit does both whells on the springs :-) I should have more time to work on the car in the sring.

Also do I need to replace the Floor Pans first before Replacing the Metal Line?

Thanks Steven

Ah! Yes, it would be prudent to have the new pans in first. While the pan is out you might even be able to get at the flare fitting in the rear. Jim
