i do not *add* salt to anything...not that most foods don't have enough already...i *LOVE* Virginia country ham.....but i avoid it...

I thought one put salt on snails?

Charles of Kankakee

I work for a company up here that makes spiral sliced hams. They have a couple varieties that are low in salt. They are very good. One can actually taste the meat.

I remember when I used to have to buy the tinned hams. Those things were

90% salt and 10% ham, weren't they?

Charles of Kankakee

Hehehehehehe!!!!

Speaking of forgotten music... can anyone name this tune (this would probably only be known to anyone who was still "growing up" in the 80's.

"What we've got here is a failure to communicate. Some men you just can't reach. So, you get what we had here last week. Which is the way he wants it. Well, he gets it! I don't like it any more than you men..."

That's why I like our hams. If you've ever had a Mickleberry ham, they are in the same league. Mickleberry is better known than Rose.

thanks Charles..i may have to hunt them up....

I remember that line from the movie, I just don't remember which one it was. Must be the salt.

The Truth? You can't handle the truth.

The quote is from `Cool Hand Luke':

I think Kidd is probably referring to the song by Guns & Roses.

Okay... so which SONG played that clip as it started? Here's a hint: My hands are tied The billions shift from side to side And the wars go on with brainwashed pride For the love of God and our human rights And all these things are swept aside By bloody hands time can't deny And are washed away by your genocide And history hides the lies of our civil wars

And I just gave you the title in those lyrics. Come on... Chris? Shaggie? You guys aren't too redneck to know this. And Jan, you just shut up! You aren't allowed to play! You already know.

Scott's right. "Civil War" by Guns 'N Roses.

are the lyrics. It's actually a damn good song. Okay... Next? I'm thinking of Name That Tune for boredom's sake. My friend Kevin and I used to sit at 7-11 all night long and play name that tune, trying to stump each other on 80's metal/rock songs. It was always highly amusing to see people coming into the store stare at the police officer belting out Quiet Riot or Twisted Sister songs at the top of his lungs playing air guitar. :) We played for over a year until I finally stumped him with a Megadeth song. I'm just now starting to get into the 70's music that doesn't require mind alteration to listen to.

Okay. 70's tune. "The old folks say that you gotta end your date by ten. If you're out on a date and you bring it home late, it's a sin. There just ain't no excuse and you know you're gonna lose and never win..."

K. "We're friends. You smile, I smile. You hurt, I hurt. You cry, I cry. You jump off a bridge.... I'm gonna miss your dumb ass."

Since I am old, I actually remember that one. Your Mamma Don't Dance & Your Daddy Don't Rock n Roll.

Ding Ding! Bill Berckman, you are CORRECT! I figured it would be an easy one. I *love* that song. Mostly because of the cop busting them gettin' busy in the back of the car. I'll sing it all the way through the academy!

Sticking with the 70's, how about this one?

"And the three men I admire most, the Father, Son and the Holy Ghost... They caught the last train for the coast..."

K. "We're friends. You smile, I smile. You hurt, I hurt. You cry, I cry. You jump off a bridge.... I'm gonna miss your dumb ass."

"Civil War" Closing quote from that song : "What so civil about war, anyway?"

*whistling sound in background along with bombs exploding* Cool song. I own a copy of Cool Hand Luke, the movie they got that "failure to communicate" quote from and highly recommend that everyone watch it. Great movie. :-D

....the day the music died. American Pie - very cool song :-)

...............Can I get frisked and put into hand cuffs the next time I'm in Fla.?

:-)

I will personally donate a box of latex gloves for cavity search purposes.

jan

.................Now wait a minute there. She can't do that yet, can she? She's only a cadet and probably still has just one bullet like Barney Fife, I bet.
