There is no tool to do that. If it's a short bar (like a swingaxle uses) then you could possbly use some type of jaw puller but you may have to modify the "teeth" so you don't accidently pull it all out trying to get the tool on. I personally have only had one out of many stick on the plate while removing. Worse case and it sticks just mark the plate in conjuction with the housing really well, then when the bar/plate are out mark the bar at the same spot that you marked the plate before you separate them. when you put the bar back in the housing, line the mark on it up with the mark on the housing. BTW don't scribe a mark in the bar or anything like that. wrap a piece of tape around the bar and put he mark on that with a pen or something. Mark Detro Englewood, FL

Why don't you want to remove the inner end of the bar? It is neccessary to do so in order to get a proper adjustment. If you are sure that you don't have to alter the inner setting, you can mark it's angle and replace it in the same position.
