Rough ride on a Golf

Aug 09, 2005 8 Replies

Hi all

I took my Golf IV 2.0 to have it serviced and I asked the dealer to investigate on the hesitant/ jerky ride under normal acceleration. They told me it was the airmass meter was faulty and it needed replacing which they replaced under the warranty from the previous airmass meter replacement just over a year ago!!

However, the ride is still jerky and it is very, very annoying especially if I need to accelerate quickly and the car is very hesitant in doing so. The problem seems to be more noticeable when climbing up hill.

Has anyone with a similar problem and that you have found the fault and been fixed?

Any help would be much appreciated.

TIA

BTW the Golf is a 2001 model, UK spec.

BTW you're in the wrong newsgroup. Try rec.autos.makers.vw.WATERCOOLED

Please try the watercooled newsgroup.

I'd be slow to accelerate too if I was breathing water all day.

Sorry, must be the late night! Cheers

Have the same problem with mine 2002 model. at 28000 km replaced under warranty engine temp. senor, air mass meter and lambda probe. Now at 50000km same problem again...

This is generally an air cooled VW group but there,s some pretty knowledgable blokes who may be able to help. Otherwise try a water cooled VW group John
