Rusty Ghia

I'm rebuilding a 1969 Karmann Ghia. I've stripped down the interior and it has quite a bit of rust but structurally it is fine. Is there another way to get rid of the rust other than sand blasting? Just thought there might be an alternative.

aresol can of rust remover?

POR-15 or another such rust converter. (the other brand escapes my mind at the moment... scottish name Mac... something, I think)

They (we?) don't call it a "full body-off restore" for nothing!!!

I've never done it, but I have contemplated it. No better way to get at

*all* the rust and other things that need attention.

I have never worked with a Ghia, but have pulled the body off of a bug a couple times and it does make working on a bug a lot easier.

I highly recommend taking the body off. I did it by myself in about three hours no big deal at all. Have a look at my site to see how I did it.
