Seat Return Spring

Hi all,

I put the front seats back in my '68 type 1 today.

First time in about 5 years off the road!

The thing is I can't remember how the springs on the runners attach to the seats.

Are they supposed to pull the seats forward or back? The only way I can see of getting them on has them stretched to double their normal length when the seat is in a drivable position (can't be right - can it?).

Thanks Spike

They are to pull the seat forewards.

J.

Thanks.

Does the extension I described sound about right?

I have it connected between a small hole about 1/3 of way along front of frame to a tab on the underside/inside of the seat (that rests on the runner).

Seems an awful l>> Hi all,

Sounds about right. Put it on with the seat forward! Adjust it correctly, then if the seat moves forward with a little help when you lift the latch, that must be about right. If it fires you through the windscreen, you may have the wrong holes selected!

LOL,

Not a bad set up for certa> Sounds about right. Put it on with the seat forward! Adjust it correctly, then
