I finally removed the 2 Top Star Adjusters. Had to remove the metal piece that locks them in place (On the side). DO I need to replace this part when putting my new Star Adjusters in? Form doing a goole search it seems no but want to make sure? Not comes the part of putting everything back together and making sure I have all the parts.

Those conclave washer-looking things with a rectangular hole in the center? I don't think they go bad and never replaced them (non bug experience) unless they got lost :)
Sears sells a cheap but solid tool that makes your life a little simpler putting that retainer back on. They call it a "universal brake retaining spring tool". It looks like a socket driver with the socket part stripped out.

Well, I think I know what you're talking about. If it's the spring that is meant to hold the "star adjuster" in place, kinda like a finger that extends past the end of the block that the adjusters are in,.....................I'd say replace them, as they do have a purpose. To hold the star from "un-adjusting" due to pressure and motion and vibration. other than that they serve no purpose................(get my drift?)

Where do I get new ones or can I use my old ones? Have to find them one popped off on the floow somewhere.
