I'm working on the front brakes and need to remove the star adjusters. I have removes the screw on part and the bottom star adjusters but the top ones will not come out. I have sprayed them with penitrating oil. I used a hammer and flat head screwdriver on the bottom ones but will not work on the top ones. Doing a google search shos using heat which I haver no way of doing. Any ideas?

I use a pair of channel-locks and grab across the star. Then twist to break the rust bond free. Once you get the star to turn, then you can turn and pull and it should come out. Put it back in with some anti-seize in the socket--enough that it will stay free, but not so much that it oozes out and can get onto the braking surfaces.
