Do I need to take out the engine and transmission to change the shift rod bushings (front and rear) on a 72 Bay Pickup ?
I was told I did, just want a second opinion.

yep. unless you do what a friend ofmine did and cut a 3 inch hole in the front so that it can be removed without dropping engine and tranny.
