Search for: Subaru engine swap Beetle, or something similar. Dunno about the exact model you asked, but it's been done. Even more popular in Vanagons.

Ok this may seem like a stupid question, but since I drive a 99 Subaru as my daily driver and have 2 VW Bugs... If you put a Subaru engine in a Bug, what about cooling? Do you just put in a radiator or are there Air Cooled Suby engines too?

Not a stupid question. Yes, you have to go to some lengths to provide cooling for the 'baru radiator. Easier to do on a Vanagon...

have an adaptor for the Vanagon...plus adaptors for VW for about 50different engines. ~ Paul aka "Tha Driver"

Yes they were aircooled. 2CVs always look good. :P
