Talbot Caliper conversion

Cool conversion. Talbot horizon is a car we don't see very often lately, I believe it was quite a good car. The change-breakpads light is a quite interesting feature, I guess it is just a circuit that closes when the metalic part of the breakpad touches the disc, right? when this happens the pads are way too short...

There is a section in the friction material that has metal particles embedded in it, snd when the friction surface wears to that depth the light will come on. You can still drive a little after that. It doesn'tmean metal to metal, I think.

of course, some pads might have a raised section of the backi9ng plate hidden underneath the friction material, and this would be worse.

In any case, the part that differs from teh rest of the fristion material will likely cause the rotor to develop a groove. Not very groovy, baby.

Engine noise like a Singer (sewing machine). I don't have any=20 exprerience of Horizons, but I have driven the bigger Talbot. Solara if I recall correctly. The gear box was _awful_.

It was a nasty s*it car. I had the misfortune to own a pair of Talbot Solaras, larger versions of the above, and I cannot believe how bad cars can be. They both had nasty rattly Simca engines...oooh makes me shiver just thinking about them... yuk.
