Time to sell my bug? questions

Aug 28, 2003 2 Replies

Dear group, sadly, I will have to sell my dear daily driver in the next year or so. I live in the Northeast U.S. where most old vws have long since rotted away and the remaining ones are very pricey. What is the best way to objectively establish a fair price for my car within my region of the country? Thanks in advance for your replies,

-Jack

................You can probably get several opinions right here. What's the year & model? Overall condition?

........................My opinion: Here in the NE, a truly solid and rust free bug that hasn't been baja'd is going to get $4k and up if it's a pre '68 model. Maybe $3k if it's a '68 or newer.

...........Why don't you take it to a few shows and entertain some offers?

You could take a trip to california, buy one, and drive it back.
