264GL

I have a 264GL which is fitted with a 1985 B28 which has developed a loud knock under the lifter cover.

What other engines fit a 264GL. I have this thing that I would like to put a non standard V8 in it !!

Any ideas.

That makes it easy, most people doing this use a transmission from the same car the donor engine came from, I don't know much about the american stuff (ironic perhaps since I live here) but you should be able to get a 302 V8 and a tranny out of a mustang, cougar, etc.

You could also look at the pictures of my wife's 264 on our web site (link in sig). A 350 chev is a remarkably easy fit. :-)

Welcome to the downside of having a light, powerful V-6...that just happens to self-destruct its valve gear. Yes, there are at least two V-8 engines that can be made to fit , with adapter kits. One's a Ford and the other a Chevy. People who have done it post here regularly, so stay turned or do a Google search on "V8" in this newsgroup. You can also install the Volvo turbo four.
