Hi All. First time here, and I can't find the answer looking through the previous posts.
'89 940 1999cc non turbo gle auto saloon. Runs fine, 100%, until it's hot (the weather, not the engine, the temp gauge never goes past vertical). In hot (36c+) weather (not when cold) it will just stall in traffic queues, revs just drop away unexpectedly like, and when restarted will drop off and stall unless revs held high (1800+) for 20 seconds or so, when it seems fine again. Then it's 100% whilst driving, but when idling in traffic again it will repeat the stalling until it gets a run of half a mile or so, then it's fine until pauses for traffic again. After another short run, in which it drives perfectly, you can park it up for a minute or so to a couple of hours, and it will start fine, then revs drop off within a few seconds and it stalls. It's recently started to stall after starting in the mornings, but it's been a warm few weeks here in the UK. Regularly serviced by me, filters, consumables and fluids etc all fine..
Any thoughts ?? I am reasonably mechanically minded, but not so hot with electrics.... Haynes is no help for this !
