If this is the diesel used in '80's 240 series cars, it's a VW engine. You may have more luck through VW sources.

No Michael it is the newest Volvo (designed and made by Volvo) unit with

2.4Litres, five cylinders, common rail and 185 bhp or 163 bhp depending on whether earlier or later version. It performs as good as, if not better than, a comparable gasoline unit.

All the best, Peter.

That one was known as the 2.5D and was also a five cylinder, built by VW/Audi and gave about 143 bhp. it too was electronically fuelled and could be "chipped".

All the best, Peter.

The old one was a D24 or D24T.

No Alex it was a 2.5D, mate. The 6 cylinder one was a D24, D24T or D24TIC just like mine.

All the best, Peter.
