Fuel Filter 740 Turbo ('91)

My 740 had been running a bit rough and I suspected the fuel filter to be the culprit. I looked around but for the life of me I couldn't find it. Being colder weather now, I decided to go to a local drive through oil change place for an oil change and asked them if they did fuel filters. Yeah, $55.00 installed, they said. I happily paid and they did the job. I watched them find the filter under the car back toward the gas tank, then watched as they cursed and worked away getting it off and getting a new one installed. I felt happier every second as it became obvious to me that this was one of those jobs I really didn't want to do - especially in cold weather. In the end one of the mechanics said "next time you need a new fuel filter, you might consider going to our competition".

The 740 runs nice and smooth now. The old filter was clogged with crud.

If they had trouble doing the fuel filter on a 740 better you do go else where as it is so easy !
