I have a 2002 V70 and for no apparent reason the light do not flash when I lock the doors with the remote. The doors lock fine. There just is no indication that they do. The dealer could not find the problem after a cursory examination and said a more extensive one would take some time (and some $). I opted not to pursue that path, at least for now and wonder if anyone on this ng has any idea what is wrong.

John, you nailed it. I checked the oil before a trip and evidently didn't close the hood quite right, although it looked fine. After re-seating it the lock/lights now work. What the hood has to do with the lights/lock is beyond me. You bested the dealer on this one.
