v70 headlamp replacement

How easy is it to replace the headlamp unit on a V70 (2002)?

If your hand is not too large it is not to bad. You need to remove the round cover from back of headlamp assembly. This is done buy unscrewing it about a one third of a turn. Just before you remove it note it position so when you replace it will you can place it in same position to reinstall. Once you have cover off you should remove the plug that attaches to the lamp. You may have to use a screwdriver to pry the plug off. It holds tight to the lamp connection. Now that the plug is off you can loosen the collier that hold the bulb. It also needs about 1/3 a turn. As you take out the lamp note the position of the key/tab on bulb so you will know how to position the replacement correctly. Turn signal lamp takes an even smaller hand. Tom

Surely the question was about replacing the *whole* headlamp unit - not just the bulb?!

Do you have to take the spoiler/bumper off to do it?

You have to move the side out of the way to remove the headlight assembly
