A friend with a 2001 Jetta Wolfsburg recently received two recalls in the mail: one for the coils replacement and one for fixing the passenger window. These used to be Owner Notifications and the dealers would only fix them as the problem arises. Are the recalls for all the 1.8Ts, or only for certain vin numbers? Thanks.

The coils were for most 1.8Ts since it's more recent that 1.8Ts are coming from the factory with the new coils. Same for the window regulators too (most older ones) although that has to do with all A4 Golfs, GTIs, and Jettas regardless of powertrain.
When did the "new" 1.8T come out with the new coils and window regulators?
