2000 GTI

Hello

I just got a 2000 GTI, my first VW, only had it two days now, and love it, except for one thing. The radio stopped working. The radio worked when i picked it up, because I listened to it when i test drove it, and on the way home (about 1 hour drive) However, when i got home, I tried to eject the 6 CD changer in the trunch, and the radio cut off and the cd holder didn't eject. It looks like there is no power at all to the head unit. The diode doesn't flash, nothing. I've checked the fuses, 42 i think it was (third from the bottom in the last column). Not sure when else to check.

Any help would be apperciated.

Hi,

I have a wrecked 2000 golf TDI (with good drivetrain) and am going to purchase a good body (probably a gasoline version). I'd like to transfer my TDI drivetrain over to a good golf body.

Any ideas on what I am getting myself into ? Is this significantly more than an engine & transmission swap ? Will I have to replace any wiring harnesses ? Instrument cluster ? Any help/advice on this would be appreciated.

Thanks in advance,

Brian

very deep, yes, yes, yes.
