94 Jetta Coolant Leak

Feb 08, 2005 1 Replies

Hello all,

I recently paid $500 to a mechanic to have my waterpump and timing belt replaced. I had a very hard time with the mechanic.

Now it seems that a small hose which connects the radiator to the engine (under the dipstick) is leaking from the engine end.

There is a clamp around the hose. The mechanic is being a jerk, can I simply tighten this clamp? if so how?

Or do I need to take it to another mechanic.

thanks

It might be a bad hose. They do go bad after 11 years or so.

If you trust your mechanic, take it to him and have him fix it! You really don't want too many people working on your vehicle. Then you can only point your finger at one! ;-)
