A2 Headliners

Sep 21, 2003 2 Replies

Hi Everyone,

I scored a really nice headliner for my Jetta the other day, but I have a sick feeling that it might not fit...does anyone know if the headliner from a 2-door Jetta will fit a 4 door?

Thanks,

Peter

There will be some curves that correspond to the b-pillar that will be in the wrong place because 2-door cars have longer doors and the b-pillar on a

2-door is farther back. This means that these edges will not fit behind your b-pillar but they'll end up a little farther back. you might be able to just trim them off though.

I'm not sure that the headliner's length would be right though. 2-door Jettas might (not totally sure though) have a different roof length than the

4-door ones although I'm not 100% sure on this.

Right.

I know that when you park a 2-door Jetta next to a 2-door Golf or GTI that the rear side windows are not the same, indicating that the roofline on the Jetta is shorter and the rear window being a little flatter, but I'm not sure if that difference also exists between a 4-door Jetta and 2-door Jetta. Hopefully it doesn't exist that way and you'll be OK and the worst part is that the headliner won't tuck into place 100% behind the b-pillar trip in which case it either might sag a little or you just find another way to secure it in that area.
