I'm trying to replace the upper ball joint on my 93 Eurovan.
So far I've:
1) Released the torsion bar tension 2) Removed the lower nut and big brass hexagon thingy 3) Whacked the knuckle to separate the joint 4) Removed the retaining clip on top of the joint. But the threaded shaft won't come free of the lower knuckle. Does the alignment plate need to be removed? Or shall I whack it with the BFH (big freaking hammer)?
Also, the joint won't come loose from the upper knuckle. The replacement joint appears splined and it looks pressed in. Shall I:
A) Use a bigger BFH and fork? B) Something else?
Any help/technique is appreciated. Thank you.
