How to: install/adapt OLD rabbit grill

I own an 82 rabbit pickup with those darn square headlights. I hate them. I really hold a preference to the circular headlights. I am considering buying a grill from a 76 Rabbit among other things. Beside mearly a plastic grill, what else would be needed for the conversion. I do see a need for different fenders, and obviously new headlights. There must be different headlight recepticals and such. Can anyone say, what parts and how many would be needed to change such a front end grill setup?

That's right. You need the grille, bumper (because the directionals are now mounted in the bumper with the new/old round headlight setup) front fenders and radiator support.

Now, my memory is failing me here... On one of the body styles (A1 or A2) the radiator support is welded in and on the other it's bolted. Obviously this will impact the difficulty of the conversion. Of course, now I can't remember which one is which...

A1 is welded, A2 is bolted

I'll vouch for that. Just took a smashed rad support off my A2 and I'm parting out my 77 rabbit so I checked out it's rad support as well. Hey if you need any parts there Thater I've got it all and I want to get rid of it. I'm located in the Pacific North West (Vancouver BC, Canada)

by radiator support i assume you guys are referring to the front apron?

you basically need a whole new front clip... the front apron and both fenders...
