I read somewhere that VW recalled the Mass Airflow Sensor on their 1.8 T engines but am not sure if it wasn't the diesel. Does anyone have more info on that? Looks like mine is failing so I want to go prepared to the dealer. Thanks.
It failed on my 2000 1.8T in about 2002, just out of warranty. I fixed it and the next year they recalled. it. They reimbursed me. Good luck!
It's not a recall but VW will buy them for 7yr/70,000miles unless changed.
