I missed the original posting that went along with this reply. I would be interested in seeing it because I had a 2002 1.8T with the triptronic that I got rid of it because I didn't like the jerky, "dumbness" of the transmission.

Just FYI: My '02 Passat with Tiptronic never had that problem (not that I noticed anyway), but when it was in for its last service back in November there was a service bulletin which applied some sort of update to the transmission (software change only, it appears).
Do you know if it is the same transmission in both the Passat and Jetta? I have no idea.
