REPOST: Radio stuck in SAFE (I know the code)

Hi:

1992 Jetta, replaced fuse for the radio, as expected, SAFE appeared on the display. Now, when I press AM/FM button and then the SCAN button, "1000" should appear on the display acc. to the instructions. The display is stuck on SAFE and nothing is happening. Any tips/tricks to get it out of this SAFE mode?

I've re-programmed this radio before, recently when I changed my battery and it was OK then, I don't know what's wrong now.

talk to the dealership, if you give them your radio's number they should be able to give you the code or at least point you to where your problem might be.
