Rubber or plastic thing that goes round tailgate lock on T25?

Hello,

Some lovely person has broken into my campervan (Type 25 1985 Watercooled) by smashing the lock on the tailgate. I have replaced the whole lock but I have found that there is a gap of about 4-5mm around the lock and the bodywork. I am guessing that there used to be some kind of round rubber or plastic ring thing that covers this gap?

I have looked on the web and found somethings called tailgate lock gaskets. But they only seem to exist for older vans and not the T25. I have tried to find out if one exists for a T25 but VW dont know what I am talking about but then again neither do I really?

Does anyone know if such a things exists in the world and where I can get one from? Or does someone have a T25 parked outside so that they can take a picture of the lock and send it to me so that I can go to VW and say..I want one of these things.

Cheers

Dan

You must be in the UK.

Try asking for a "lock grommet".

Thanks Peter!

I have said this to VW and they know what I am on about now.
