I have a 1984 Rabbit GTI
Two questions, is there a washer required under the big nut at the top of the strut shaft.
Is there another washer ( smaller then the washer above) that goes at the bottom of the threads of the strut shaft. This is the location on the bottom side of the strut mount/bearing where the threads end?

The Bentley shows a big washer under the top nut. A new rubber bumper and dust cap on the polished shaft. A smaller washer on the turned down section of the struft shaft that is partially threaded on the strut shaft. Then the spring cap, upper bearing, big washer and nut.
