WTB: Scirocco hood

I rear-ended an SUV a couple of weeks back in my 1987 16V Scirocco. Up until that moment it had no dents or body work and nearly no rust. I'm now needing a replacement hood in good condition. The operative here being "good condition." I've got two others myself, but they're either showing rust or have dents of some sort in them.



If you've got one to sell, prefer original black paint, but obviously not a requirement, please get in touch. The e-mail on this message is my real address.



If you've got ideas on where to find one, that would be much appreciated too. I've done the web search thing and have only found two. Of course, maybe that's all there are. :)

What I want is "good condition." That is, dentless with minimal rust.

I didn't say I wanted an new OEM hood, and if I gave that impression it was incorrect.

I can see where what I did say might have been taken to mean I wanted an '87 one only. As it happens, I've got two '87's, an '86 and an '84 here, in addition to the crumpled '87. Both of the '87's have dents and rust issues, the '86 has it's front edge curled under (previous owner hit something) and the '84 has holes drilled in it for tie down pins. Still, it's looking like it's going to be the '84 that gets used, since it's dentless and has low rust.

That's the plan. They just aren't keen on working one where they have to do body putty on the hood itself due to flexing issues.

Mine is/was in pretty good shape body-wise. Original paint overall, 114K miles. I'd have liked to find another black one to save the painting, since fixing the front frame (where the radiator attaches) is going to be expensive.

The search continues.
