Just watched Pimp my Ride UK on Channel 5

Jamie and the Carrisma boys, talented, but a little mis-guided. Westwood, total wannabe no hope loser innit.

And they ruined that hearse in white with white wheels.

Would have been better in mile deep black, no flames, and reverse wire wheels. Other than the the colour/wheel choice, not a bad job.

The Carrisma boys and girls are good with cars, crap with TV.

As I believe may have been pointed out before, it doesn't really work in the UK because all the cars have to be reasonably roadworthy to be in use, usually having had a recent MOT, whereas in comparison to the US they don't have any such test there and people can drive around literally in death traps. So you don't really get the wrecks here that you do there.

Yes. That was just wrong.

I usually end up ranting at the TV because they put everything they can on huge wheels but leave the weany tiny brakes as standard behind, so it looks... unfinished...

Oh, and rather than do something useful with an engine (or replace), they quieten the interior down with more sound insulation...

Would you trust anyone with his hair to style your car?

Oh yes. The best designers of cars always look the weirdest dress/fashion/hair sense.

See that is where you are very, very wrong.

What Carisma do is produce crazy wild over the top, road legal show cars, and custom work for punters who can afford to pay.

What Max power do is show it to people, when pretend you can copy it at home with 4 tonne of fibrefill and 3 forests of 6mm MDF.

Yes, you can do it at home, if you don't need to use your car to drive for as long as it takes to be done, and you are Jamie Shaw.

That hearse had a six inch letter box hole in the wing top. And no sign of recently removed gaffer tape body repair either.

I though he started off as an at home modder of 5's and built a business out of it. He did at least used to do engine mods though now it just seems to be stick on tat and excessive interiors.

Tends to be extensive fibreglass and bodywork+excessive interiors. But yes, he did start at home. But not everyone has his talent. You might not like the finished article look, but the execution is flawless. And that is what puts him one step ahead of the normal home modder who thinks "it's good enough" then lathers on some rattle can on the hottest day and wonders why it looks shit and needs to have the dust and bugs pulled out.
