Coolant Problems

Anyone have any problems with a Pug 306 DT 95-reg model coolant warning light coming on, but the coolant is actually filled to the brim and does not drop?

Water pump/Thermostat was changed the other month and no problems until I put it through the car wash (didn't have time to clean) and now the light is coming on..

Im suspecting a faulty sensor as it tends to flick on randomly.

But, a couple of websites I have looked at have suggested bleeding air from the coolant system via. 3 valves situated in the higher parts of the coolant system just to make sure its not pockets of air affecting the system/sensor..

Has anyone done this?

When I open the radiator its always pressurised and spurts out a little..

I have also had the head gasket checked when it was in for repair and they said it was ok.

advice? experience? etc. etc.

Me and cars do no get on i'm afraid : (

Many thanks

Matt.

though. Apparently the radiators are common on these cars to go. The sensor is also very sensitive, mine was still coming on when there was a lot of water in the bottle. I just topped it up and it fixed it. But if its topped up to the right level and isnt going down at all then it must be the sensor.

Try filling it up, remembered what level you put it too and make sure it isnt going down.

does it fall off when you pedal it? if so check the fans... it sounds amazing but that was the case on my car.

I would try bleeding air from the system. If you have a top bleed screw on your radiator then open it when the system is stone cold. Also if do get some air bubbles when you open the rad cap when cold, bit suspect, maybe head gasket gone . Big bucks but better get it checked out by pressure test at local garage. (If they said its ok, then try another garage. You may save yourself some money if you take some quick remedial action)
