1991 Loyale CHECK ENGINE light

Hello, I have a 1990 loyale with about 165,000 miles on it. The other day the check engine light came on, and has stayed on ever since. The oil pressure is good, and the temperature is good. Can anyone tell me what else could cause this light to go on?

There are several thousand things that can set a code. Without a code reader you could spend a lot of time and money guessing at which one set the light. At 165,000 miles could be oxygen sensors, catalytic converter, or loose gas cap. Too many to guess at.

Sorry, you have a 1990 or 1991 which was before OBDII. There are ways to pull the code on the OBDI cars.

Blair, The page you suggested is for a Legacy, not a Loyale. Is the wiring compatible?
