jerking

I've got an '96 Subaru Impreza plus 2.0 liter aut. When the car is stopped and i turn the wheel in the right or left most "outside" position and apply some power (not the pedal to the metal ofcourse) the car is jerking ( no strange sounds just feeling). When i do this gentle everything acts normal, no jerking at all, i can drive "eights" or circles in the parking lot, no jerking no strange sounds . And when it jerks i feel it in the front of the car. Is this normal ??

Classic "torque bind".

Basically, the thing that lets the wheels turn at different velocities reaches its limit and "slips" intermittantly causing a "bbubububbub" sound or sensation in front.

Not a good thing to do generally, but can happen on slow, tight turns. Doesnt seem to do particular harm unless you do it a lot and for a long term.

To help reduce this, make sure your tires are doing equal wear, and that you have absolutely correct air preassure in all tires. (Get a dial gauge, not one of those shitty stick gauges.)
