i'm reading the owners manual and the book says to use Dexron II, Dexron IIE, Dexron III type automatic transmission fluid.
am i reading this incorrect?? are they saying to refill the power steering fluid with automatic transmission fluid???

Would you put power steering fluid in your transmission?
Yes use auto trans fluid. I went one step further and replaced the fluid with synthetic auto trans fluid (Mobil 1 I think but not sure) Two years now and everything's fine. A couple of guy I know did the same. Gilles (Montreal)
Yes you are reading correctly. All the cars that i have owned have used auto trans fluid in the power steering
When you buy a container of "power steering fluid" you are really just getting automatic trans fluid....but paying a premium for it! TG
