Transmission slippage. Help!

Hi, I have a 2002 Corolla with about 40K miles on it. I had the tranny oil changed at about 30K. No problems. Now at about 40K, the transmission seems to slip when going from 1st to 2nd.

Does anyone have any suggestions for this? I?m a DIY so I try ot do everything myself first. Any help is appreciated. Thanks.

Uh, this is a Corolla we're talking about. It can only be a 4 cylinder.

THat thing is under warranty, for one, so the screwing around that you do should be limited. Check the fluid level while the vehicle is running on a level surface. If the fluid is normal, then take it to a dealer.

You can do this yourself: Take it to the Toyota Dealer and make them fix it for free. Anything YOU do to it could give them an excuse not to pay for it.

I'll take THAT Corolla, especially with a manual transmission!

No kidding. That'd be fun. :)

I will take it too, but only if its awd... that would rival Lancer and Subaru WRX

Anyone driven the '05 Corolla GTS or or SXT or whatever? I can't remember the letter combo after the name, but it's a six speed and apparently has the engine & drivetrain from the GTS Celica. It's pretty slick, I was working on one the other day. Its also the only FWD gearbox that Toyota makes that doesn't feel like yanking a wet noodle around.

isn't that a warranty covered problem?
