You're babbling again, old man.
You're babbling again, old man.
Finally, some recognition.
I'd be beside you on that if you provided the beer.
You are honest and know that you are a motorcylist, and a newbie at that. Just don't splatter yer brains across the highway before your insurance can support the family well.
Indeed, I have been accused of being overly intelligent, but you know intelligence is relative, and in your case, a true accusation even though I be average.
Anyone who can string more than five words together intelligently would seem to be babbling to you.
You're a little too bi-polar-ish for me to even consider hanging out with you. You'd tell me I was great one second and then stab a knife in my back when I turned around to grab you a beer.
I've got about 7-8 years worth of real riding behind me so far. I'm
37 and started riding around age 20. If you consider that a newbie, then ok. So now that your medication is kicking in, you wanna let me know in a rational way why you spouted off about how I'm sure to get my ass kicked by some old dried up fart with bullet holes in his ass? Or was that just more ranting from you that I can chalk up to lack of prescribed medication? I don't know about you, but I don't respect or admire ANYONE who would park in a handicapped spot who wasn't handicapped "even if they're a vet." The way you and Denise are acting, though, it seems you both would consider them heroes for taking a spot from some crippled person. I'm glad there are vets out there who have done their honorable jobs that they were paid to do, and I respect them for that, but that respect would stop if they decided they are a "special case" who can break the law just because their "career choice" wound up making them have to actually fight for our country like they signed up to do. I would like to give you and Denise both the benefit of the doubt and guess that y'all can follow along with that line of thinking. John, maybe you should check into the whole bi-polar thing. I've been told that you "swing more than a Chinese ho in a basket." :-)"Shag" wrote
Bipolar... WTF is that? And how do you know so much about it? Family? I'll check and if it's worth a laugh, I'll come back on that one.
Maybe it's not us guys after all. Maybe it is.

Yes, please ask your doctor about it.
Exactly.

Dennis! I don't think Shag is a cheerleader for The Shrub! If he is, I'm sure he will let us know, but until then, let's lighten up on the man. (If he is a couchpotato warrior, then fire at will... no, no, fire at Shag.)
I still don't know what Denise is whining about when he says I talk the talk. I said being a vet doesn't give someone the right to break the law. Is Denise mentally retarded?
"Shag" wrote
No, he is not retarded and you know it. He's probably upset and misunderstood you. We get a lot of flack from people who didn't have the opportunity to experience Vietnam and both sides have a tendency be, ah, intolerant, or answer accusations never made.
Ask and I'll tell you a funny story about a twenty-something year-old who shouted at me in a bar, "Are you one a doze old crips who lost the Vietnam war?"
Please tell me the story. I hope you stomped a mudhole in his ass.
Shag,..............I have been there with Dennis in his lack of self control. It's not worth it to keep up a fight with him. He has a commonality with a lot of us on the RAMVA group. VW's. He can;t hold his tongue when it comes to any other discussion. Has to show his ass. Just forget it and carry on without worryin' about him. It'll be far more rewarding anyway.

Shag, I apologize to you for showing my ass as such. John, thank you for pointing out my anger management problems. I have many stories myself that I am not going to share and that did make the papers also. Viet Nam vets are still wound a little tight and I do take my meds. Thanx

Sounds like good advice. I'll do my best to follow it, and I apologize to the rest of the group for my language in my responses to him, and I regret ever starting this thread to start with.
And nobody but nobody else shows their 'ass' on RAMVA. I swear, Scott, I can hear you listhping as you say that.
Before I started this thread, there was a "sister thread" on a motorcycle forum I participate in and in that thread, one of the moderators and myself got into a semi-heated disagreement (*nothing* like the exchange you and I had on this thread) over issues surrounding handicapped spots and the people who use them. Another moderator wound up completely wiping out the entire thread for whatever reason he thought was appropriate. (There was no foul language in the thread, and I honestly think he wiped it out because several people were disagreeing with him and the other moderator. The moderators were really on the losing side of the argument.) I exchanged a couple of private messages with the moderator I was having a disagreement with and we wound up admitting each of us had valid points. He made a closing comment to me that I'd like to make to you now because I think it applies to the "conversation" you and I had also. It was:
"I have some insight about you now that I didn't have before. At least that's something gained."
The reason I like to post OT stuff in this group is just that I've been around this group long enough for the responses that come from the OT threads to be really interesting to me since I have a sort of character built up in my head for what each of you looks like and how you behave. I didn't post this thread to cause trouble. I posted it as a half-joke, but anticipated I would probably get some really interesting responses. This time I got more than I bargained for. When I re-read the thread, I realize that at a minimum I need to tone down the f-word usage. I'm not a vet, but I can get wound a little tight myself sometimes. Dennis, I'm sorry for offending and for the way I responded to you. I could have been much less of an ass myself. I'm not proud of the way I "lost it" when responding to you.
