How hard is it to inspect. It is on the passenger side near the window? Can you get at it from the inside of the car near the glove compartment or outside near the windshield wipers????

You get at it from under the hood. It's pretty easy. You should replace it at least once a year, or even more often, if you live in a dusty area. Mine gets dirty within a few months.
