Darn, I have just bought my 97 Chevy blazer a couple months ago and it seems that everything is going wrong. It was as is, but it is a real lemon. So far, I needed new windshield wiper, a throtle, brakes, rebuild transmission, will need also lower ball joints and have just noticed that my AC ain't blowing cool air. I hope that this is just matter of charging it. I remember that I could hear the AC to kick in and off on my Chevy Camaro, but I don't hear anything here on this car. I loved my Camaro and my Jeep which was traded in for this lemon. Well, now I am thinking that the $8k for car and $3k for repairs since I bought it in mid February 2004 would made me a nice car. Should I file a complaint w/the BBB?

Check the Lemon Laws for your state -- you may have recourse which is why he is asking you to sign a piece of paper not to sue him. I bought a 4.2L CJ-7 from a used-car dealer almost 20 years ago in NY State, "As-Is." By the time I drove the Jeep home 10 miles, I had lost 1/2 quart of crankcase oil. I used the vehicle to commute 80 miles a day, roundtrip, and poured over 6 quarts into it that first week. I obtained some literature from the BBB and they gave me an address to send a SASE for NYS Lemon Laws covering used cars (Gore had not invented the Internet yet...). I brought all the paperwork with me back to the dealer (I had 30 days to lay claim from the day I bought it) and they scheduled to have their shop repair the rear oil-pan seal the following week (had to take a day off) at no cost to me. The aftermarket A/C wasn't working 100%, the clutch was beginning to slip, but neither were "vital engine components," so I coughed up $150 to get a friend to replace the latter. The "vital engine component" sticks in my mind but what is considered such is up for debate. Don't sign that piece of paper. Good luck.

That's almost all the stuff that broke and/or fell off my '97 Mexican foreign import Chevy Suburban 1500 before it hit 90,000 mi. If your exhaust system cracks in half and falls off, if you need a new $1000 AC compressor installed, if your vaccuum boost diaphragm on the master cylinder fails and your intake manifold gaskets leak and need to be replaced, well we'll be even.
Take my advice, cut your losses and ditch that bitch ... I dumped my @#$&%@ Chevy import for an American made vehicle - a Toyota Tundra.

Lesson learned: Never, EVER buy a used vehicle without at least a 30-day written warranty.
