You made an appointment for service, went in on the day of the appointment and they said it could take a WEEK to get around to looking it over? My shop asks to have the truck for the day, in case any of those "while we're at it this needs to be done" things come up, but a WEEK? What would happen if you had an appoinment for an oil change, would you be without your truck for a week?

Yeah. They did not really seem to care one way or another about the fact that you'd be out of a car for a week. Even for an oil change, it would be the same. I made a 7:00am appt. Got there at 6:15am and there was 16-17 cars ahead waiting. At 7:07 they started letting people in. When I got in there (about 8:00am) to talk to the one service rep taking the order, I noticed all the mechanics and other workers in the back drinking coffee, lauging, walking around slowly and a few were on their cell phone laughing while talking. When I talked to the one guy, he said the 7:00am appt was just to bring it in (even though when I talked to them earlier in the week, they said that means they'd take care of it the same day). He told me they were backed up by around 150 cars or so and that it could take a week before they got around to checking my car out. When I asked if I could keep my car and have them call me at work an hour or two before they'd be ready to have me take it in. They said "Absolutely not, we don't do that. You leave it here and get a rental or you go elsewhere". When I said, "I'm going elsewhere", the guy did not say anything to me and walked away (obviously not giving a crap that I was misled/lied to) and started talking to the next customer. Worse was that my truck was blocked in-between two other vehicles and that same guy had to move the one vehicle in-front of me. Knowing I was blocked in (he looked and saw), he continued to drink his coffee and play grab-ass with one of his fellow co-workers for about 10 minutes. When he was done with his coffee, he slowly got into the vehicle in-front and moved it up so that I could finally get out. That's just service these days I guess. Nobody really cares about their customers anymore :-)
