Removing the truck bed from my truck

Hello,

I need to repair something on my truck and it sure would be a LOT easier to get to if my truck bed was not on...

I looked underneath the truck and it looked fairly easy to do. It looks like all the electrical is brought to the bed by plugging into it in the rear. Just unplug that.... then remove the 6 or 8 bolts that attach it to the frame.... then loosten the metal clamp that holds the fuel filler to the hose that leads to the gas tank, and thats it? Get a friend on each side and lift up, carry towards the rear and set down on the ground?

Is it really that easy???

Only if you and you're friend are very strong. But yeah that's all you have to do, buy might need a few more guys so you don't strain something you want to keep.

if it's a shortbox, it's completely doable by 2 guys of reasonable strength. My brother and I pulled the bed off of his '93 C1500 to fix the fuel pump last summer. a long box requires 4 ppl of reasonable strength.

to the OP... PB B'laster the bolts and let them set for 15 mins before you try to loosen them, you'll be glad you did,
