Where's the receiver?

Question

2003 Chevy Express van with express access.  Does anyone know where theradio receiver for the wireless remotes is located on the vehicle?Jack

its underneath the upper dash panel... remove the bezel around the cluster,remove 2 screws, the pillar moldings, and the rest pops up... the rke moduleis a little black box slightly smaller than a pack of smokes...theres only 3wires going to it... power and ground,and then the data line. Thanks.  Only 3 wires, eh?  Rats.  I was hoping to take the output thatcauses the key fob's panic button to sound the horn to do something else.

You could always go to the output that sounds the horn....(grounds or powersthe relay) Bobo know where that is?

Yup, that's exactly what I'd like to do, but it sounds like the receiverjust sends the data to a computer?  Is it possible to break that panicoutput out someplace?Jack

I have a 2003 Express cargo van with the Express Access package.  Thispackage has the three high body panels as operable pop-up doors for accessto the shelves from outside the van.  Unfortunately, the remote key foboperates these panels instead of the usual door lock-unlock.  There is noprovision on the key fob to unlock the van doors, but there is a panicbutton which honks the horn.  Like I need that.  Sooo, I thought that if Ican grab the panic output somewhere, I could use it to trip a relay insteadto unlock the doors.  Just a thought.Jack

You need a diagram to find the output for the horn. And just use it. Seamsvery possible if you are electrically inclined. Seams someone here wouldknow where that is, not me though....
