1978 was not the "good old days". 1978 was near the nadir of vehicle performance and economy in North America.
Reminds me of my brother 1975 Charger Special Edition. (Like the Cordoba and Magnum) It had a 400 CID Engine and a Quadrajet carb Boy! that thing sucked gas like nobodys business.
I still remember the commercial "Hey Charger"
Nice car they dont make them like that any more. I use to own a 77 plymouth gran fury with a 400ci engine. It had a nice ride and good power and only 33500 miles.Sold it about five years ago.
Agreed- 78 was automotive hell. But that being said, the Cordoba was still on the B-body platform at that time (prior to being banished to F/M/J body hell), could still be had with big-block power, and WAS one of the few "good ones" still available. And that is a NICE example.
It just goes to show, too, that even though Chrysler was practically bankrupt, their cars still had some fans.

Acually I did 3 car shows this past summer and yes I was the only Cordoba there. It seems to bring back alot of memories for people, one kid thoght I should lower it and put on a ground package, I just kinda laughed.
One is reminded of Ari Onassis, who had the bar stools of his yacht, 'Christina', upholstered with whale penis hide. He was fond of casually informing female guests that they were sitting on the biggest dick in the world.
It's amazing so many stupid kids survive to become grownups.
Actually this car is from up in the northern states, the state does'nt use salt on the roads thus no rust. And I drive this car all year, I have studded tires all the way around.
