Fuse Issue: The Rest of the Story

My PT Cruiser's remote entry was not always doing its job. Changed batteries did not help.

To resolve a radio power problem with a blown fuse, I wound up changing out several fuses. After new items were in place I noticed that the remote entry began to work like new.

Perhaps much like old light bulbs, old fuse's should be changed out once in a while. I assume excessive resistance in the mount or across the fuse was related to this issue. Any thoughts?

Richard.

You have a loose connection and changing the fuses wiggled it.

It's more likely that he reset a controller (BCM?) that needed "re-booting" by pulling its fuse.

Since the OP never specified the year of the vehicle there is no way to check for any TSB's that might apply to his vehicle
