Classic Car Insurance II

I've just had the renewal in for the SD1 and it's gone up again by considerably more than inflation. And I've never claimed.

I'm with Hall & Clark and they use the RAC, but say they're going to change. But not soon enough for me.

Any suggestions for classic insurance where I can get an online quote? Happy with restricted mileage.

I may as well be the first to suggest Footman James. Not sure about their online forms though. I'd suggest you ignore forms anyway. Just list everything they ask about and email all the sites you can find, you'll save hours by letting them fill in the boxes themselves.

I'm insewered for the Capri with Auntie Carole, they're ok, but some of the staff have really bad attitudes.

Well, for me it was IIRC 135 quid for an SD1 EFI kept in London. Doubt I'd see half that anywhere - but I'll give them a try.

£35 dearer than FJ for either my Elf or my A40, and FJ put both on the same policy, unlimited mileage and include continental breakdown cover!

Firebond? I've used them for years, never had a problem, prices good, they've paid out quickly.

Just DON'T use the online form, call them instead. It appears the online form ignores the "classic car" bit and quotes you full for some reason - it quoted me £1024 for the Capri 2.8i. I called them and got it for £187....
