Driveshaft for 94 cammy, single or two piece?

My driveshaft bearing is bad, I cannot find another two piece driveshaft, can I just buy one from a trans am or something in throw it in? I know I can fit a single piece driveshaft, if I do, will that f*ck up my car? I have a gorgeous 94 camaro v6 stick shift. Any input greatly appreciated!! Thanx Edna

Scrap that bomb and put it out of its misery.

Alternate repair procedure.

1) Go to Sears. 2) Buy the largest sledgehammer you can find. 3) Carefully following the attached, start at the hood with swinging. 4) Work your way to the back of the Camry.

Call salvage yard for disposal. See your GM dealer for a replacement vehicle.

Mission accomplished :).

I don't know there Big J, I think that the Cammy is short for Camaro and not the offending toyota product. I think she owns a 94' V6 5 speed.

Isn't the "offending toyota product" a front driver????? If the orignal poster is a "Carmy" owner... maybe they are trying to come up with a way to make it 4WD!!!!!! Other than that.... I can't imagine what in the world they would be using a drive shaft out of a TransAm 4????????

Gee what next...... Muders and fender flares!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The same for any front drive vehicle. Hell, I don't consider any front drive car as having a driveshft. For someone who doesn't know, I sopose that the yoke, universal joint, and drive shaft could be considered a two piece unit. All I know is that I didn't read anything about a Camry in the original post.

The driveshaft for the camaro that year has the piece from the u-joint from the tranny, in the middle it has a bearing (if you grab the driveshaft by the two ends the middle moves). That's what I mean with two piece. The regular driveshaft is a straight pole with u-joints at each end. Help please? I just want to know if I can install a driveshaft from another car, a single piece.

Thanks

Unfortunately, I can't tell you if it'll fit, but I can confirm there were 2 piece driveshafts used in 4th gen V6 F-bodys. I imagine the V8 driveshaft would probably fit, but there's gotta be a reason for the 2 piece DS. Maybe an aftermarket DS company can help you. how about tacreationsusa.com - they do used parts.

Measure your driveshaft from Transmission yoke cap to rear end yoke cap. Then measure a one peice driveshaft. If they measure the same leinght you should be able to interchange them.

I have never seen a F-body with a carrier barring or a two peice drive shaft. Charles

no actually I was replyin to Airhead bigj. for some reason he does not know that people that OWN a Camaro often refer to them as Cammys.

99% of the other people in the world call it a Camaro ...

You're the first nimrod I ever heard call it a "Cammy".

hmmm, maybe you and the bigj live in another planet or maybe yous don't own a camaro or maybe yous don't know about cars. In the original message it clearly says is a camaro.

I agree with the other guy, just measure the length of the driveshaft and the size (I believe is a 3") and you should be ok. I know 94 z28's have a single piece shaft and they should fit yours.

Good luck.

Too bad 50% of them insist on spelling it Camero.

The length should be 41" from center u-joint cap to center u-joint cap. All one piece driveshafts from any f-body from 84-02 should fit. I've never heard of anyone calling their Camaro a Cammy either but to each his (or her) own, I suppose. It'd be like me calling my firebird a Trans Ammy.

go yahoo.com and in the search bar type cammy camaro, and see how many people use this term.

Maybe it's only where you're from. I live in the midwest and travel a bit. Everywhere I have ever been, I have heard a lot of slang names for them (Good and bad), but I never heard an F-body referred to as a "Cammy".

Yanno, you would have been a little more believeable if you had taken this out of your headers.

Now, I just consider you a troll, with nothing good to give the group. I suspect others already think the same.

Erm, you don't own the group. Either grow a thicker skin, or learn how to plonk people.
