Z28 still at dealer and not running

My car is still at the dealer with nothing fixed. The ignition rotor seems to be the culprit. It has about 51,000 miles on it with an LT1 and air. Must be very hard to work on or noone wants to do it!

I am keeping a tally on a bluebooked at $5k and I am guessing the repair will cost $900 before I am through. I am not made of money!

Actually I would have done it if:

1.You were Local to Dayton Ohio. 2.You didn't mind a 3 week wait.
  1. You paid cash. I don't take checks, or credit cards.

I would have charged $275 plus parts. Charles

That's the wrong direction. Shop 6 is going to be in Roanokae (I can't spell it still) V.A. area. In the next few years. Ill spend half my time here, and half there.

Im sure if you look hard enough there's an old redneck rodder like me out there that does work on the cheep. Charles

my experience is that all Chevy delers are incappable to fix ignition problem on the LT-1.

They charge lots of money to thro parts at it, coil, wires, plugs, rotor, cap, optispark. And they usually screw that up.

it's a shame, and probably the reason consumers don't want GM or other domestic products.

I was able to find a local mechanic that knew how to make LT-1 engines run.

Suggest you do the same.

Will save you money and aggravation.

Call me crazy, BUT find a shop that repairs cabs or used to repair cabs. They used the LT1 in the caprice (Cab/police cars)from 94-96 so they know it's problems way better than the dealer does. Just my .02 BTW the distributor is a very common problem on the LT1 I ought to know I sell A LOT of them
