The lights are dark until I turn the headlight switch all the way to the point where the overhead and map lights come on... then the panel lights up. Is there a separate fuse for the dimmed panel lights I do not know about? Do I need a new headlight switch? Thanks.

I believe this describes a bad rheostat in the light switch. I don't think you can replace it seperately.
