Help with changing plugs on 5.0 V8 Explorer

Jul 23, 2003 2 Replies

I'm going to change the plugs this week. I took a peek at the engine (5.0 V8 2000 Ford Explorer LTD AWD) and it looks like I can get 7 plugs out with difficulty, but the 8th one looks mean. It's the one on the passenger side closest to the back of the vehicle.

What tools do I need to make this job easier? Any tips or tricks you can offer me on this one?

Thanks

There should be no need to remove the wheels, unless you have some huge oversize tires. Just pull off the splash guards (or whatever they are called) - they are held by push pins - and the plugs will be in plain view.
